Dell Venue 8 Android Tablet Review - Red
Dell Venue 8 Android Tablet Review - Red This is a review of the Dell Venue 8 Android Tablet. In our review of the Dell Venue 8, we consider aspects such as Screen quality, speed, web browsing, video playback and the sound quality of the Dell Venue 8. This is one of two budget android tablets from Dell. We are going to be looking at the 8" version but there is also a 7" version available. Lets take a look around the device. On the front face of the Dell Venue 8 android tablet is the 8" IPS display and the front-facing 2MP camera. And we'll come back to the display in a minute. One the bottom edge there's just a speaker grille thats embedded into the soft-touch plastic cover. On the left edge of the Dell Venue 8 is a plastic built-in cover that protects the SD card slot. You can expand the memory using an SD card slot to an additional 32GB. On the top edge of the Dell Venue 8 is the power button, the microphone and the 3.5mm headphone jack. On the right edge of the Dell Venue 8 is the micro usb charging and connection port and the volume rocker buttons. The rear face has a soft touch rubberized feel to it and the rear-facing 5Mp camera protrudes slightly from the surface. In terms of size, the device is a little longer than the iPad mini while the Mini is slightly wider than the Dell Venue 8 android tablet. Though they both have approximately the same screen size, the Venue 8 is thicker and heavier than the iPad mini. The Dell Venue 8 is one of the few tablets out there that uses an Intel Atom processor, which used to be found exclusively in low-end laptops and netbooks. And in terms of comfort, the device is very well balanced and the soft-touch finish does make the device pretty comfortable to use. However, the biggest problem with the Dell Venue 8 is a rather important one: The screen. The list of issues begin with a rather strange circuit pattern on the face of the device....we're not sure if you can see it and we've never seen anything like it on any tablet we've even tested. The problems do not end there. The screen isn't very bright or sharp and the colors really lack proper saturation. Certainly not an impressive screen by any measure. And this is very apparent even when you compare it to the quality of the screen on the iPad mini without the Retina display. On the positive side though, the screen is very responsive and smooth, as you can see in this little test. The device also currently runs Android Jellybean 4.2 and its pretty close to stock android with very little bloatware installed. The web-browsing experience on the device is decent. Webpages load up reasonably fast, scrolling is smooth but pinch to zoom is still surprisingly jumpy. Video playback from youtube was pretty good. The video was smooth and the sound quality was also decent. The volume has been set to a 100% so you can hear how it sounds. The video playback from web-streaming services like netflix was also problem-free and smooth as you can see from this little clip. The only problem we noticed was when holding the device in the landscape orientation its rather easy to accidentally cover the speak grille and this affects the sound quality. The Wifi signal was also very strong and reliable throughout our test. The Intel Atom processor made the 3-D gaming experience quite smooth and size of the device is also pretty ideal as a gaming console. However, the poor screen quality again seemed to ruin this party. Both the front and rear-facing cameras on the device were barely decent, as you can see in these test shots. So the big question is: should you buy the Dell venue 8. Well, certainly not at the current price of about $180 in the US. If you are willing to spend a bit more there are several better options such as the Nexus 7, the Galaxy Tab 3 and the iPad Mini. And if you are on a tighter budget you can consider the Asus MemoPad HD 7 or the HP Slate 7 which offer a comparable performance to the Dell Venue 8. PT6M23S

Samsung Galaxy NotePro 12.2 Review For more details, check out our web site: http://www.phonearena.com/reviews/Samsung-Galaxy-NotePRO-12.2-Review_id3595 It's the largest member of its Note family, and Samsung argues that the 12.2" NotePRO offers PC-like productivity in today's mobile age, which blurs the lines between computing device segments. If we look at the specs of this Android tablet, they are certainly top-notch, but barely different than other high-end slates. NotePRO does add a larger display diagonal, compared to the typical 10" tablets, and even if compared to the Tab PRO 12.2, it is one S Pen stylus ahead, but is that enough? Can it really compare to a small and light convertible with desktop-grade Windows? Let's see what's on offer with the largest device in Samsung's Note portfolio... PT13M3S

Samsung Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 Review
Samsung Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 Review Lisa Gade reviews the Samsung Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 Android tablet with a quad core CPU and a 12.2", 2560 x 1600 Super Clear LCD. The Note works with the included S Pen and touch, and it has one of the largest displays found on a pure tablet design. It weighs 1.65 lbs. and is very thin at 0.32", so it's not a burden to hold. The WiFi model we review runs on the Exynos 5 Octa 5420 CPU with MALI T628 graphics. The LTE version will run on the Snapdragon 800 with Adreno 330 graphics. Features include Samsung's multi-window multitasking, their new Magazine UX home screen UI, dual band WiFi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.0, a GPS with GLONASS, 2MP front camera, 8MP rear camera and a IR blaster for AV home theatre remote control. The tablet has USB host and a microSDXC card slot. Pricing is $749US for the 32 gig model and $849 for the 64 gig model.
